We asked two of our 886 partners this question:
What steps would you take if investors show interest in your project but none want to lead the round?
Kevin Chou — Co-Founder of Kabam
I would put forward a set of terms to the investors that have interest and ask if it is acceptable. If the founder is not knowledgeable about typical round structures, ask an advisor or 886. If it is, in the next investor meeting, I'd present the terms as acceptable to other investors.
Jameson Hsu — Co-Founder of Mochi Media
I would put together a favorable offer to the new investors to encourage one of them to take the lead in the round. If none of the investors are interested, then I would continue the search for a lead.
